Job description:

Responsibilities

  • Client Liaison: Assist Project Team Leader with client interactions, including presentations, project programming, and service delivery.
  • Contract Administration: Act as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent for various building types, using standard construction forms.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site visits and issue inspection reports.
  • Appraisal Reports: Prepare and present initial appraisal and feasibility reports.
  • Measured Surveys: Perform measured surveys of existing buildings or sites.
  • Design Proposals: Develop and present outline design proposals, including budget estimates.
  • Scheme Designs: Prepare and present complete scheme designs for approval.
  • Working Drawings: Create full working drawings for project construction.
  • Statutory Approvals: Submit applications for planning, listed building consent, and building control approval.
  • Specifications: Prepare specifications and schedules of work, or provide information for bills of quantities.
  • Tender Process: Invite tenders, analyse them, and prepare tender reports.
  • Contract Documents: Prepare contract documents.
  • Contract Administration Duties: Perform contract administration duties following practice procedures and verification strategies.
  • Maintenance Manuals: Prepare maintenance manuals.
  • Professional Services: Provide services like Party Wall procedures, condition surveys, and detailed reports on building conditions and future maintenance.
  • Delegation: Delegate duties while retaining overall responsibility for achievement.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year post-qualification (BSc (Hons) degree or similar in Building Surveying) experience and/or breadth of knowledge and competence commensurate with this position.
  • Associate membership of RICS or equivalent recognised qualification.
