Job Description:

  • Ensure that all work activities are carried out in line with the sub-contractors Health and safety plan.
  • Including HPL health and safety requirements
  • Sign up all RAMS and follow them when at work
  • Unload scaffolding from a lorry
  • Create a stable base on the ground
  • Put up scaffolding poles and attach horizontal tubes to them
  • Fix scaffolding to a building
  • Lay planks across scaffolding for workers to walk on
  • Fix guard rails and safety nets
  • Check the scaffold is secure before handing over
  • Take down scaffolding at the end of a job
  • Understand the value of the materials that are being used and look after them.
  • Understand waste is to be minimized.
  • To work in partnership with other Contractors and work as a team
  • Ability to listen and follow instructions
  • A team player and have with a flexible approach

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 1 Diploma and preferred previous site experience. This is required to enable the apprentice to complete the NVQ L2 in the time given.
  • Displaced apprenticeship looking for support to complete in 6 months.
  • Knowledge of scaffolding works is preferred.
  • Have good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Good practical skills.
