Tell us about yourself...

My name is Adien Barton and I am currently unemployed.

How did you find out about the LSBU Green Skills Hub?

I found out about the hub after attending a previous open day which was held at LSBU. I was sign-posted originally after a green jobs fair at the job centre.

What course/ job did you enroll on with the Hub and how has it contributed to your development as an individual?

I enrolled on 2 courses, the first was the Level 1 Employability course which has helped me improve on my skills to help me become more employable, with work topics such as what employers look for in potential candidates and mock interviews.

I also enrolled on the Forward Trust Climate Change Level 2 course; this has helped me improve my knowledge on the topic greatly. How and why climate change is affecting the planet, what can be done to help mankind to change for the better. I now feel better equipped to apply for my desired jobs.

If you could give one piece of advice to other residents about working with the Hub, what would it be?

My one piece of advice would be to ‘go for it and give it a try’- there is so much that is to be gained from their assistance.
