Understanding Climate Change and Environmental Awareness
Forward Trust's Green Skills program provides a comprehensive course in the skills required to succeed in the workforce. The program covers both environmental awareness and climate change, giving participants the tools they need to confidently enter or re-enter green sector work. Upon completion, participants will have the chance to interview directly with a sector of their choice
Course description:
This programme is for
- Unemployed participants
- Job seekers
- People aged 19+
- London residents
- People who want to upskill
Entry Requirements
- Undertake assessment in English and ICT to determine eligibility for the course - you must meet a minimum of Level 1 to attend
- Ability to work independently
- A computer or laptop to complete assessments
- Provide 3 different documents including either a Passport or Birth Certificate, and Proof of benefits
Programme Components
- Understanding climate change,sustainability and environmental protection
- Understand industry and the environment
- Understanding resource efficiency and waste management
- Employability enrichment support
- Employment enrichment sessions that enhance your green sector knowledge with activities such as community projects, volunteering,employer support (mock interviews and work experience), and exploration of social enterprise.

- 1-2-1 tutor support and E-learning with access to e-portfolio
- Enhanced IT skills
- Home study and independent learning of 1 to 2 hours every other day will be required
